We are a group of experienced counselors passionate about providing quality, trauma informed mental health care to our valued New Jersey clients.
Sheila is a Licensed Professional Counselor; Approved Clinical Supervisor; and Practice Owner that specializes in trauma. She has been working with trauma since 2014. As of November 2019, Sheila received her Approved Clinical Supervisor certification through the Center for Credentialing and Education, Inc. Therefore, allowing her to supervise Licensed Associate Counselors (L.A.C’s) within the State of New Jersey. Sheila completed her EMDRIA approved EMDR basic training April 2021 through the Personal Transformation Institute, and pursued her certification thereafter. Then in April of 2022 she became certified in EMDR. All of her EMDR training has been through the lens of S.A.F.E approach to EMDR.
Her professional achievements are only a part of her identity. She also identifies as being first generation Ecuadorian-American; female; spouse; daughter; and a parent to two children.

Samia is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Associate Counselor. After her Master's in Clinical Mental Health, she continued her training in her Ph.D. studies. In addition, she is trained by the Beck Institute, developed by the founding father of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Samia is an advocate for and a practitioner of trauma-informed care. She believes in the connection of the brain and the body and that healing requires mindfulness or being present with the emotions that come up day to day. Other modalities that inform Samia's therapeutic lens are inclusivity of multicultural diversity, strength-based care, and humanistic approaches. Samia is also an avid consumer of up-to-date research in the mental health discipline to ensure best care practices with her clients.
Finally, her personal style is down-to-earth and sincere. She fosters an environment of safety by taking the time to understand your story without judgment.

Patricia Mejia is a License Professional Counselor (LPC ). Patricia received her degrees from Kean University. She gained experience at YWCA UC in Domestic Violence, Trinitas Hospital in Substance abuse, Bethany in Refugees, which enabled her to work outside of private practice. Committed and highly dedicated mental health counselor with 6+ years’ extensive experience in counseling people from diverse backgrounds. Possess an outgoing personality with absolute rapport-building skills. Experienced in encouraging patients to express their feelings and assessing them for mental health illnesses. Offering expertise in mental health rehabilitation and cognitive-behavioral therapeutic interventions. Patricia completed her EMDRIA approved Basic Training in the S.A.F.E approach to EMDR in August 2022 through the Personal Transformation Institute.

MEET PATRICIA SONIA
Patricia Sonia is a licensed Professional Art Therapist (MA, ATR-BC, PAT) whose counseling approach is client centered and humanistic. She received her bachelor’s degree in Art with a minor in psychology from Montclair State University, and her master’s degree in Art therapy from Marywood University. She has experience working with all age groups, and with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She is trained in Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Bowen Family Systems theory.
Patricia Sonia es una terapeuta de arte certificada por la junta (MA, ATR-BC) cuyo enfoque de asesoramiento está centrado en el cliente y es humanista. Recibió su licenciatura en Arte con una especialización en psicología de la Universidad Estatal de Montclair y su maestría en Terapia de Arte de la Universidad de Marywood. Tiene experiencia trabajando con todos los grupos de edad y con sobrevivientes de violencia doméstica y sexual. Está capacitada en Terapia Cognitiva Conductual centrada en el Trauma y en la Teoría de los Sistemas de la Familia Bowen.

MEET MARY SARAH
For over 20 years, Mary Sarah has implemented trauma intervention programs combining counseling with creativity and self-expression both individually; and globally as a UN Delegate for the Commission on the Status of Women. She received a Certificate in TIR (Trauma Incident Reduction) from Victim Services Center in Miami, FL working with victims of domestic and war-based trauma and and offers ongoing practices in EFIT ( (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and Polyvagal Applications.
Mary Sarah deeply values the power of the therapeutic relationship to help restore connection to yourself and others, and works from a psychodynamic, strengths-based and systems approach to help shift long standing patterns, negative self-beliefs, and painful emotions.
She comes to you joyful, highly intuitive and with an unshakeable belief in the healing process.

When we are faced with challenges, trauma, loss, and life changes, it can feel overwhelming and scary. For some, the hardest thing to do is ask for help when faced with hardship. Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified EMDR Therapist who recognizes the importance of cultivating a therapeutic alliance with her clients. Kim has several years of experience with treating adult survivors of domestic/sexual violence and treating adults with anxiety. To help foster a therapeutic relationship, she meets clients where they are in life and provides a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental space for them. Kim’s implements EMDR and strength-based approaches to assist clients with building their resiliency and acquire coping strategies to tackle life challenges. Other therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy tools, dialectical behavioral therapy tools, solution-focused approaches, safety planning, trauma psychoeducation, and domestic/sexual violence psychoeducation.
Kim graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and earned her Master's degree in Social work from Rutgers University with a clinical concentration in Violence Against Women in Children. In 2021, she completed her EMDR Basic Training through the Personal Transformation Institute and became a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA in 2022. Her clinical experience includes working with adults with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, domestic/sexual violence, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Sarah is Healing Pathway's Office and Social Media Manager. She graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2021 with her Bachelors in Psychology. She has since worked in administration for varying levels of mental health care, including both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health facilities. Sarah feels inspired daily by the clinicians and counselors she has had the pleasure of working with, and hopes to go back to school to become a counselor herself in the future. Sarah is extremely proud to be a part of the Healing Pathways team.
