Does Healing Pathways Accept Insurance?

Yes! We are currently in network with Aetna and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Insurance benefit checks are conducted for each new client before their first session, so they feel informed about their financial responsibility before proceeding with sessions. 

 

For those wanting to utilize their out-of-network benefits, a superbill can be produced upon request to be submitted by the client for reimbursement. 

Are sessions conducted in person or via telehealth?

 Delivery method of services varies by clinician. While all clinicians offer virtual sessions, not all clinicians offer in person availability. Please see our "Team" page to get to know our counselors and their availability.

 

For those pursuing EMDR therapy, please note that the modality can effectively be offered virtually using the remotEMDR platform. 

How long are sessions?

Typically, an Initial Diagnostic Evaluation, also referred to as the Intake, is the first session in the counseling relationship. The Intake session typically runs for 60 minutes, and is a valuable opportunity for the clinician to explore the clients personal and familial history, as well as the understand the presenting problem for which they are pursuing counseling services. Moving forward, clients can expect ongoing sessions to run for approximately 50 minutes in length. For both the intake and individual counseling sessions, if the client arrives late, the session will still end at the expected time.

What are the fees associated with sessions?

The cost of individual counseling is $175 for 60 minute sessions, $220 for Initial Diagnostic Intakes, and $90 for 30 minute sessions. For clients utilizing an in-network insurance, the amount collected per session will be in alignment with their benefits (copays, deductibles, etc).

 

For those utilizing out of network benefits, the full cost will be collected at the time of each session, and a superbill will be provided monthly to the client for them to submit for reimbursement. 

What populations do you accept?

Healing Pathways works with adult clients only at this time (over the age of 18). We do not accept clients with active Eating Disorders or Substance Use Disorders as those diagnoses are outside our clinicians' areas of expertise. If you have a history of an Eating Disorder or Substance Use Disorder and are no longer active (in remission) then those clients are accepted. It may be determined at any point that a client requires an alternate level of care. If this occurs, referrals would be provided, and transition of care would be carefully coordinated. 

What is your cancellation policy?

Our clinician’s time is valuable, so we require 12 hours notice to cancel a scheduled appointment. For no shows and sessions not cancelled within this timeframe, a fee of $35 will apply. Also, if a client is over 15 minutes late to their session, a fee of $35 will apply.

Does Healing Pathways have a Client Portal?

Yes! Healing Pathways utilizes the Simple Practice platform for scheduling, billing, completing paperwork, conducting video appointments, and messaging clients directly. Simple Practice is HIPAA compliant and extremely secure, which is why we chose it!

 

Clients can download the app or join using their desktop. The invite to create an account will be sent to new clients via email. If at any point a client is unable to access their account (forgotten password, expired token, etc), they are encouraged to reach out via text or call to our main line at 908-434-6008

Start Therapy

Once both you and your clinician decide to proceed, an initial session will be scheduled! Prior to, you will be asked to complete some intake forms and will have an insurance benefit check conducted on your behalf.
