Mary Sarah deeply values the power of the therapeutic relationship to help restore connection to yourself and others, and works from a psychodynamic, strengths-based and systems approach to help shift long standing patterns, negative self-beliefs, and painful emotions.
She comes to you joyful, highly intuitive and with an unshakeable belief in the healing process.
Share a little about your personal interests or hobbies outside of therapy, and how they might inform your work with clients.
I am an actor/voice artist and have owned my own studio for 12 years. When I am not acting in front of a microphone or camera, I am romping about with my grandchildren and whipping up vegetarian cuisine. I believe that both vocations as an actor and therapist are lives lived in empathy. We have to understand emotions, motivations, perceptions and why behaviors and choices are made!
What is your go to self care or grounding routine?
I am always stretching, doing yoga or walking on the 7 miles of trails across from my house as much as I can, as most of my time as a therapist and voice actor is spent sitting. I must attend to my spine and joints if I am to stay walking upright! 😉
What is your comfort movie/TV show that you can watch over and over again?
Chocolat with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp. It is about a gypsy woman who upsets a small French town by bringing her decadent chocolate treats ( as elixirs of sorts ) and sets up shop, providing a spiritual space to grow, grieve and change.
